Product Description

EDTA, or Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, is a white crystalline powder used primarily as a chelating agent to effectively bind metal ions and prevent their participation in chemical reactions. It is highly soluble in water and forms stable complexes with divalent and trivalent metal ions. EDTA is widely applied in water treatment to reduce metal ion contamination and scaling, and improves cleaning efficiency in detergent manufacture by softening water. It is also utilized in pharmaceuticals, food processing, agriculture, and manufacturing industries for metal ion chelation and stabilization. Proper storage in a cool, dry place away from incompatible substances and safe handling with protective equipment are recommended. Zenco Chemicals offers reliable supply and consistent quality of EDTA across East Africa, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
